I hope you and your little leprechauns enjoy my Luck of the Irish addition game!
The 2nd grade teachers in my school made these A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E little leprechaun hats!
They are so cute I can’t stand it! You are NEVER going to believe what this started as….a styrofoam cup! I know, I could not believe it! The girls at work put 4-5 cups in the microwave & melted them! You can also do it in the oven with the following directions.
Turn the oven on to 250 degrees. Place Styrofoam cup, bottom side up, on an old cookie sheet and place it in the oven. Open a window (there may be some fumes) and carefully watch the Styrofoam cups melt. It will take about 2 minutes to get the cups to look like little hats, but you can experiment with more or less time if you like. Immediately remove the cookie sheet from the oven and use a butter knife to gently pry up the edges of the cup from the cookie sheet if necessary.
When the students arrived to school they found this note, a green treat & a plain leprechaun hat ready to be decorated! I’m so mad we didn’t do this first…lol.
May the luck of the Irish be with you today! Happy St. Patrick’s Day blogging buddies!
