My Furry Babies & Daily 5 Book Study Bookmark

I have a problem. I am completely in my summer vampire sleep patterns….again. It’s not pretty. Especially for those around me…including my furry babies. Although they are right up with me, of course. They are EVERYWHERE I go friends. If I go to the bathroom I have 6 eyeballs staring at me which makes me very uncomfortable. They are no longer welcome in the bathroom anymore. When I wake up at 2, roll over, there is Big B. He lays there, like a human….on a pillow and everything. 

Sorry for the dark picture but he was so close to me his hot breath woke me up. Isn’t he precious? We call him Big Boy, Big B, Big Head, Big Help, Pooper, Chunk….are you noticing a pattern? His name is Bentley, he is 5 years old & is my only boy…..he weighs in @ a whopping 145 lbs! I know, I know he is overweight. I like to say he is “big-boned” & has a very slow metabolism like his mommy.  Love him!

Here is the “back  & side view” just to show you just how big he really is. Anytime anyone comes over they want to take him to their house for a sleepover. Mommy doesn’t do well with over nights so he can’t go. We try to travel & every time I’m gone I get home sick within a day over these dogs & have to come home. Am I the only one like this? I guess not having kids does this to me.

Here is our 11 year old named Java…I like to call her “Mama”. She is a skinny mini with a very speedy metabolism. You would think she was a puppy with how insane active she is. I love her to death but she is very high strung just like her dad…oops did I say that out loud? Hope he’s not reading this. 
 

I do not like when my camera does this to their eyes :o( These two ALWAYS have bandanas on. Saturday is new bandana day & they get so excited…it’s truly HILARIOUS!

 

 Here is our little Olive or I call her “Moo Moo”….she comes to either name. The photo below was after a VERY BAD haircut. When I dropped her off they were dying over how cute she was. When I picked her up 3 hours later they were in a state of shock. They asked all snotty “Is she always so hyper?” I was not happy & she will not be going back to them.

As much as I wanted her to love her new chaise, she did not. I gave her about a week & the only time she sat in it was when I forced her to for this photo shoot. It went back :o( 

 Here is my husband & I putting build a bear glasses on her…we are so mature.

 I got a new ottoman at that store I am obsessed with…the hippie store, Earthbound Trading. She is sporting an Earth Day bandana btw.

Here is Moo Moo in one of her many tie dyes. She was having a bad hair day…it must have been humid.

Here is what I have to see when I leave…pathetic. If Big B didn’t shed so much he would go every where with me. Now onto what my summer has been like so far. 
Moo Moo is queen of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!! Java DOES NOT EVER LEAVE THE POOL….EVER! 
And there goes the PITA knocking Olive off the raft. Notice Bentley on the side lines. He is afraid of the water! Have you ever seen a lab afraid of water? Now you have. I’m kinda glad he doesn’t like it…I couldn’t even imagine the hair with two labs swimming daily. 
Imagine trying to relax in the pool & this swimming passed you 5305 times! It’s very annoying. If we lock her in the house she tries to lick her way out the door…not kidding.

Nicole from Teaching with Style made this adorable book mark for our Daily 5 book study. I already printed mine out on card stock & laminated it to keep myself organized. I worked on Daily 5 items for 9 hours yesterday! I am obsessed friends………yet again.

  3. I know what you mean, my dogs follow me everywhere. As soon as my husband gets out of bed in the morning our German Shepard puppy (who is a year old and weighs 85 pounds) jumps right up on the bed and takes up his whole side of the bed.

  4. I love your pictures of your dogs, I am a dog lover too! It is nice to see I am not alone! I have kids they are 16 and 15, but I now talk to my dogs like they are my babies. I know I am the crazy lady. I totally understand and can relate to your bathroom incident, lol. Yesterday I created my blog or finally made it into something and began to learn how to use.   8. Wow, Big Boy is definitely that! 145 pounds? Bless his heart! What kind of dog is he? I am a huge dog lover! We have a lab/border collie mix here at home & looking into getting another one. Thanks for sharing pictures of your cute babies with us! 🙂

  9. Love all your pictures of your fur babies. We are dog people at our house too. I love the picture of big b on your pillow. I wake up with a dog on my pillow every morning. I am dying waiting the Daily 5 to arrive from amazon. It has been stuck in Saint Louis since June 8. Hopefully, it will be here before the 13th.

  16. How cute! Big Boy is adorable! I love big dogs! My bullmastiff recently passed away but he was getting on and it was his was time. He was also afraid of the water (he was afraid of everything actually – when we had new people in the backyard, he'd run to the other side and hide in the garden!).

  17. Our old dog, Jed was pretty much a cross between Java and Bentley. He looked like Bentley but acted like Java. He loved the water and acted like a puppy up until the day he died at the age of 13. Now we have a lab/shepherd cross who is much more serious. I love them all, including our 6 cats! Don't worry they are all outdoor cats so I'm not a crazy cat lady! Thanks also for the daily 5 book study. I am teaching grade 1 for the first time this year and I am very keen to use daily 5. First though, we have a little over 2 weeks of this year left! Enjoy your pool days!

  19. I loved your pics of your furry babies! I know what it is like to be followed all over the house, my boykin spaniel follows me everywhere when I am at home. She has separation anxiety and wants to keep me within her sight at all times! Not to mention that I have 2 non-furry children that follow me around everywhere too! I don't use Daily 5 currently, but I am very interested in what other teachers are doing with it. Thanks for all of the great freebies and updates!

  20. I just LOVE dogs too! My sweet puppy is loving summer. She sleeps with her head on a pillow too.. I'll admit she is spoiled, but it's so hard to say no to her. Love of my life!! I mean.. don't tell my husband I said that 😉

  22. Thanks for sharing pics of your babies. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who treats my two as if they were my children. I also have company when I go into the bathroom. It's kinda like when my kids were little except they don't talk back!

  23. You had me laughing! I absolutely love dogs! We had a yellow lab who also avoided water (unless he could touch the bottom). He would also walk up the stairs backwards. Yes, bottom first! He'd start out right and then about step 3 he'd turn himself around and back right up! I now have a cavalier spaniel and he goes on vacations with me (whenever possible)! I too get homesick without him!

  26. Just catching up on emails/blogs and HAD to read about your fur babies. I was excited to see that our Black Lab Louie Houdini was not the ONLY lab who didn't like the water…
    That picture of them watching you leave- we know they really do love us, even when we have to leave them, they know we will come back, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 hours (or more) later.
