… I think this might be my signal to finally start a blog of my own! I'll be a first-year teacher this upcoming year (just graduated with my M.T.) and in second grade. I was planning on reading along, but maybe I ought to take part!

Awesome! I just read the book and am going to try the program next year. I teach students with moderate to severe disabilities so it might be a little different for me, but I can't wait to follow along.

Yay! I am so excited to implement The Daily 5 in my classroom next year. I'll be a first year, first grade teacher! I found a book group like this for the upper grades, and am *so* happy that Jana over at Thinking Out Loud let me know about this one! Is it going to be a discussion on each blog of each person who hosts a chapter? Or will there be a universal blog for the book talk?
Thank you guys SO much for this!

I would love to host a chapter. I began using Daily 5 last year (kind-of) and fully implemented it this year. I am so excited you all are doing this. I was so jealous of the upper grade level book study.
I am so excited!!!
Thanks for putting this together!

We have been doing daily 5 in our school for a long time. You are going to really like it. If I can make one suggestion….make more stations from the 5 they give you, by mid year the kids get restless. Also, I often see less groups a day for more time so I can get quality work done. Have fun!

I am new to blogging and all this stuff, so I hope this will be easy to follow. I will still be in school when you start and we have a 13 hour time difference EST but I will follow along. Silly question. I have read the book a few times, but should I reread it before the book study or read as I go through the book study? I am so excited I found this:)! I have been out of the classroom for a year and can't wait to get back in. Hopefully next year. Fingers crossed!
