End of the Year Ideas Summer Linky Party- Week 1

Some of my blogging BFF's from Freebie-licious and I are doing weekly Summer linky parties. We hope you will stay tuned & gain lots of ideas for next school year!  I posted a few sneak peek pictures on my last blog post. We had a totally peaced out partaaay! I had the BEST class this year & they worked so hard...plus they filled our classroom bucket full of nuggets which means....partaaay! If you don't follow me on INSTAGRAM, you should. EOY Awards using candy bar wrappers!

So I decided to whip up something a little different for my little nuggets. I threw them a major bash which was most of their EOY gift from me. With the help of some fabulous room moms the kids had a fabulous EOY peace party....that is a whole other post.  I'm all about quick, cheap, & easy with 2 days left. Above gives you the directions on how to wrap the candy bars. You can use a glue stick or Scotch tape, either one looks great. I simply filled out the awards, signed them & wrapped them in 30 minutes. After our peace shindig I completely wore myself out & am now sick....BOO! I need quick, cheap & easy. Classroom Pics….finally & Me & My Gang

Oh my! What a very hectic few weeks! We finished our 9th day of school this today & oh boy am I ever tired! They just wear me out! On top of having a new class, we also are experiencing lots of changes which can be super stressful! I truly adore my new firsties & am very excited for this school year. I have changed my theme, my behavior plan, & am adding Daily Five....stressful but very exciting as well. Peace Themed Word Wall & 1st Grade Blog Author Opportunity

Hello from Kentucky! Yes, I'm in Kentucky right now for the Route 127 sale! I just LOVE the southern accents out here :o) BUT, I don't think they like mine :o( I have been repeating myself for 2 days now....seriously!  I think us Chicagoans talk too fast...lol. I have found many treasures today including 4 lava lamps for my peace themed classroom....S..C..O..R..E! I got a Candy Land board game...I use just the game board & figurines but use sight word cards & addition/subtraction games with it. I think I have 7 boards already. I found the game "upwords" & plan on using the letters for "word work". I also found two mini chairs which I posted on my FB page that I plan on redoing with some Dr. Seuss magic. I might even jazz one up with some peace signs & tie dye. I promise I will post pictures when I get done...which might not be until Christmas break since I will be spending every waking moment in my classroom starting on Monday! Classroom Set-up Day 1 & NEW peace themed stuff! Oh & a FREEBIE!

So I had only one day that I could go into my classroom this week. After spending about 8 hours in there, I could barely make it home. O...M....G was I SORE! My husband says "why are you sore?"....guess whose eyeballs were rolling?!? They just DON'T GET IT! I am on a road trip with my parents right now. I left my purse @ a Bob Evans in Lafayette, IN. & discovered it was missing 2 HOURS later! Can you say....UGH! I caused us over 3 extra hours of drive time...I felt horrible! I was too busy pinning & eating biscuits & gravy..yum...to notice I walked out without my purse! So after an added 3 hours I am in Lexington, KY right now & am so excited to be going to the longest garage sale in the world! It's called the Route 127 sale...have your heard of it? Well I am going to look for books, shelves, & peace stuff for my classroom among other things. I can't wait! So this is why I only had one day in my classroom.
