As you know I have moved into a new classroom in a brand new school! I was lucky enough to get a class set of the Ultimate Organizer Set from www.seatsack.com! My all time favorite item is this seat sack. It's unbelievably well made out of extremely durable material. This is so important when you have to use something year after year. You want to make sure the product will uphold wear and tear. We use 1 1/2'' binders that go back and forth between home and school. I honestly didn't even think that this would be able to fit inside. To my surprise it did!!!! Wahoo! This has left us with clutter free desks! Since we have new desks, we do not have any kind of storage underneath. This problem had already been solved but they still had to have their binders on their desk the entire day. This is perfect! They also store their books, desk folder, & interactive journals in the seat sack. I am saving so much instructional time not having them go back & … [Read more...] about Organizational Seat Sack Ideas

New Writing Station~In Action!
I FINALLY got this bad boy finished! I am beyond excited & so are my students. We.are.obsessed! This writing station has been a work in progress....for a year! I started it at the end of last year to spice up our writing center. I knew I wanted some kind of display but I didn't know how my space was going to work out in my new classroom so I waited. Since I didn't know what my space situation was, I used binders for my organization. This is more of a grab & go option. Sometimes they would take the binders to their desk or just sit on the floor with a clipboard. I used a poly folder inside of the binder that contained copies of the writing station paper. If there was sheets that went with the station I also included those for their reference. For those that do not have an extra bulletin board or dry erase board space this is another display option. I included 2 different letter sets that spell out "write". Holy cuteness, right? This … [Read more...] about New Writing Station~In Action!

Loads of August Randomness & a FREEBIE!
As you know I tend to disappear around this time of the year. I have been coo coo for cocoa puffs CRAZY busy! I'm sure you all can relate. I am now teaching high ability kiddos with brand new curriculum....eek! I honestly don't know what direction this post will go in because trust me, it is all about randomness! I will start by showing you some project pics. Yes, this would be the hubs modge-podging. He was a modge-podging maniac this summer & we are still not done! I we prefer to modge-podge on the outside of the drawer. I like the way the color pops. Do you agree? As you will see in this post I am a tiny bit obsessed with chalkboard & neon decor. Do I still have peace signs, yes, of course I do. These are their little trash baskets for scraps....for now. These were only $1 @ Michaels! New Teacher Tips-Summer Linky Party #2
I would like to start this out by apologizing to the first class I taught. College DOES NOT teach you how to run a classroom, not even close. I think of different occurrences that happened my first several years...oh.my.word. After teaching for ten years, I myself am still learning & still changing things up from year to year. EVERY class you will have is a different...lets say "bird". As you start teaching you will know what I am talking about. You will have years like this last one I had, that you never want to end. The kids are near perfect, most of the parents are fabulous! You are just in la la land over in your room and then....it ends. The class that is coming up I am truly frightened....frightened to the point that I am shopping for prosthetic bumps to fake a baby...not kidding. They scare me. I couldn't even walk through the cafeteria while they were eating...well rolling, skipping, jumping, standing on tables...if there was chandeliers in the … [Read more...] about New Teacher Tips-Summer Linky Party #2
Winter-licious Fun!
I was honestly so excited to see my little nuggets when we returned from winter break! They had the biggest hugs & smiles for me as they arrived. The morning went beautifully...I guess since they were all half asleep & half of them were at the nurse....LOL. I was a little afraid to see what was going to happen after lunch. I kept thinking.....either they were seriously just exhausted or they were just behaving to please me....you know remember all the hugs I got??? After lunch.......I was convinced they were intravenously given straight sugar or their parents all gave them pixie sticks for dessert. Let's just say.....HOLY MAMA! Even though they were exhausting they were eager little learners during Daily 5. I was super stoked to have them try out the new centers I made. I just love the look on their faces when I tell them I made it! They always say it was their favorite...little brown-nosers! Here is a preview of my … [Read more...] about Winter-licious Fun!
