I am linking up with the gorgeous & talented Reagan Tunstall from Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits! PRODUCTS Here is the original Reward Coupons! I can't tell you how much this has transformed my classroom! I would NEVER go back to a treasure box....EVER! This has saved me so much money it is incredible! And since we don't have kids I don't have to BEG everyone I know with kids for happy meal toys! Here is a pic of my kiddos on Friday trading in all their warm fuzzies for coupons. I had TWO FULL CONTAINERS & they literally almost wiped me out of coupons! I have received a TON of requests for more, more, more coupons! It takes me F-O-R-E-V-E-R to make my products...I'm just so anal! I have been working on these for months & am still about 1/2 way done....sigh. Below is a sneak peak of the coupons that are coming. They are currently in use in my classroom just to make sure they are well liked. Where do I get … [Read more...] about Hall Pass….fashionably late

I have been plotting all year & can't wait to introduce my students to our elf tomorrow. Raise your hand if your students are already CRA-CRA & it's not even D-E-C-E-M-B-E-R! I'm going to whip out that little elf early this year. The hubs is wrapping the package now & it will be put into the freezer tonight. I'm going to freeze his little butt! I ripped his hands apart last year to give him some more flexibility...I have some major plans for my little Mexican friend. Mexican, you ask??? Yes, when I sent my mom on a wild goose chase last year looking for an elf she bought me a Mexican elf. No biggie, Mel D is 1/2 taco so I am allowed to talk about my Mexican elf named Juan....I'm kidding we didn't even name him yet this year. Classroom Management Linky
I am so excited to link up with Rachelle & Natalie's linky party. This is honestly my favorite topic to blog about! This has been my biggest obstacle when I started teaching nearly 10 years ago. If you're anything like me if it's a challenge you must accept the challenge and overcome the obstacle and I did! Last year's group of students was the MOST challenging bunch I've ever had! I knew within the first day either I was going to retire @ 39 or have to come up with something really good. First I'm going to give you some examples of things I do in my classroom that have gotten me to this point & have worked magically. I have a secret...it's magical & it's NOT too late to start.............2 words.........WARM FUZZIES. I have been using this for at least 9 years & LOVE IT! Here are my fuzzy containers. Here are my two containers for big & little warm fuzzies. One BIG one equals 5 little ones. So to get a big one is … [Read more...] about Classroom Management Linky
Daily 6 Chapter 6-Part 2 Word Work
This is by far one of my favorite parts of D5. My students have loved all the activities I've made for them. I split up this chapter because I have so many ideas that I have used for writing & word work & wanted to share them with you! I do work work activities based around spelling, vocab, seasonal, word wall, amazing & sight words. First I show them some but not all the materials they can use during word work. They must know where to find the materials and where to put them back independently. Then I go over the following chart. Click on the pic to take you to your freebie Work on Writing/Word Work packet. Now I'd like to show you some of my ideas for Word Work. You have to make it fun & exciting for them. Make things so they don't even realize they are learning. My kids would fight over going to Word Work & it was because I always had different things to offer. Their VERY FAVORITE Word Work activity is the following games I … [Read more...] about Daily 6 Chapter 6-Part 2 Word Work
Earth Day Linky Party
I'm linking up with my friend Denise over @ Sunny Days in Second Grade for an Earth Day FREEBIE linky party! I'm ALL ABOUT the 3 R's! You should see my decor in our "party room". It's very eclectic with almost everything that has been recycled out of something & made into something new. When we were in Denver last summer I went to this store called Earthbound Trading & FELL.IN.LOVE! IN LOVE! I was hyperventilating in the store trying to manipulate talk my husband into shipping some decor home. He can be very cheap frugal! No matter how much I pouted, whined, kicked & SCREAMED I got one thing.....ONE THING! The closest store to us in Chicago (at the time) was 4 hours away! The distance still did not convince him. I gave him the silent treatment, for at least 1/2 the day. Trust me this killed him because he loves to talk....ALL.THE.TIME! How did I even start talking about this? Oh, recycling & my decor. I can go off & I'm ready to take pics … [Read more...] about Earth Day Linky Party
