Before you even bust my chops I know I am a week behind! Jeez...people! I was kind of busy in Vegas...baby! When I get a moment to breathe & get on a normal schedule I will be blogging about my trip. In the meantime, let's catch up on............. The way I run my math in my classroom will remain the same. I really feel like this entire chapter should be an entire book. I just felt like I didn't have enough information....to be brutally honest. I run my math stations typically like I do Daily 5 except they work in partners, with me, or by themselves and I don't have a chart. Basically, I don't call it Math Daily 3 or Math Daily 5. I just call it math stations. I have my math block after lunch & our daily jobs. I started out this year using EnVision...well that lasted all of 2 weeks. Blah! My students are babies & they are tired after lunch. They need to be up and moving and have some major hands on learning during math. Remember they have … [Read more...] about Daily 5-2nd Edition Chapter 8 + FREEBIES!

Spring-a-licious Fun!
Here is a little peek at our Spring-a-licious week! Missing addends are usually painful for my little nuggets. They love when they have center activities! Does the cuteness help them? I'd say so! In ten years I have NEVER had math stations.... just call me ineffective. I wouldn't change this for the world! I feel like I have helped my students with these challenging CCSS concepts with all the hands on review. We have struggled with greater than/less than this year. The more exposure they get, the better! Once upon a time when our standard was to 20 or even 50 it wasn't as difficult but now that it is 120+ it's difficult. Double digits in first grade?????? Thanks Common Core! It is overwhelming but they do understand with lots of practice! How about some Spring-a-licious fraction action? The cutesy chevron doesn't hurt the eyes either! I wish they had this rug still :o( Mental math=kicking and screaming! When you … [Read more...] about Spring-a-licious Fun!
Candy Land Mania & FREEBIES!
Did you know there are 8 different versions of this game??? Um, yeah, me either! I knew Candy Land had been around for A.LONG.TIME but I did not know HOW LONG! I couldn't figure out why I would get emails complaining that my cards did not EXACTLY match the game cards. Well, I can't EXACTLY copy the cards I thought. Do these people think I want to be sued by Milton Bradley or something...I might as well scan in the cards! My students NEVER once questioned me about the cards or what to do with them. I have over 40 games for them...a different game a week! Well, apparently I'm just a little too laid back about the cards not being EXACT. So after 3 hours I created a version from 2010, 2004, 1999, & 1984. The 4 verions can be found for free in my TPT STORE HERE. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of having to print out another page to match your board EXACTLY. Due to copyright issues they will not be EXACT replicas but they are as close as they are … [Read more...] about Candy Land Mania & FREEBIES!
