As I was lying in bed last night (wide awake at 2 am) I was thinking about a photo shoot for Mother's Day. You know I love changing things up from year to year....especially when I have siblings. So this is what I came up with last night & it actually turned out better than I thought it would.... LOVE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS! I had sidewalk chalk leftover from last year's photo shoot on our last day. Did you miss that??? Check out this fun filled post HERE. Anyway, my student teacher and I went to town this morning. I was sweating..yes I worked up a sweat trying to get this masterpiece done in the 10 minutes I gave myself before the kids arrived. Turned out pretty adorable if you ask me! We surprised one of our co-workers with this pic of her daughter. Happy early Mother's Day to her! All my kids ended up wearing our sunglasses. It was so sunny that they couldn't look up so you might want to be prepared for … [Read more...] about We Love Our Moms……….This Much!

November & Oh My… it’s December?
So my much needed Thanksgiving break is over....BIG OLE WAH...(visualize me kicking, screaming & yelling "I don't want to go back to school!") True story. Anyhoo, I thought I'd share some November fun we had with photo props & some other fun stuff. Most of the photo props I use is simply clip art that I blow up & print out on card stock. Michael's and Dollar Tree are always my favorite places to drop by to purchase little props. The favorite item was........ The hats.....oh.my.word the hats. They were too cute on them! No shame with my little nuggets! The hats pictured above came from Target dollar spot but they were actually $3 each. The props in this photo you can grab for free from datingdivas.com. This photo shoot took place in the ugliest corner of my classroom...if you can only see behind that yellow backdrop...lol. Speaking of my school, did I mention I am getting a new classroom in a few weeks??? Getting an opportunity for … [Read more...] about November & Oh My… it’s December?
First Day of School Tips & More!
I'm joining some of my bff's over at Freebie-licious for our last summer linky party. Seriously, where did the summer go? I've spent my ENTIRE summer on getting ready for next year & of course sharing my ideas with you. I have so many classroom pictures that I can't wait to show you! I pride myself on the classroom management routines & procedures that I have come up with. This my lovelies is vital to new teachers & even veteran teachers. We always pray that we will not get the class that puts us in the looney bin but we always don't get that lucky. I don't have children so the students are my children for 9 months. Some I would love to take home & some I would like to move to another class. We all have them. The first day is always scary for any teacher. We are just as nervous as our little nuggets & their parents will be. I always get scared that I am going to make someone cry, send them home on the wrong bus, lose them in … [Read more...] about First Day of School Tips & More!
Positive Rewards for Classroom Management
If you have been a follower for the last several years then you know I focus on positive classroom management. Several years ago when I implemented my reward coupons I witnessed a drastic change in my classroom atmosphere. It was truly amazing to watch. Along with the reward coupons I also use a combination of character trait student recognition necklaces (pictured above) and my other student recognition necklaces. It is amazing how the students just light up when I would tell them to go grab the "I was respectful" necklace! They wore them proudly & loved the extra attention they received from the principal, other teachers & staff members. This is how I used to store them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way these were stored BUT you know I like to change things up........keep reading. I simply printed the necklaces out on REGULAR PRINTER PAPER, not card stock & then cut each necklace out & pasted it on tie dye scrapbook paper. Of … [Read more...] about Positive Rewards for Classroom Management
Classroom Photo Ideas
Last year I decided to continue a classroom blog & post yearly photos to share with the parents. After looking at the page views from my first year I knew they were really into it. If I were a parent (I wish :o(), I know I would love to see pictures of my child in the classroom. I posted pictures on this blog throughout the year but decided to have them all in one place for you! Unfortunately, I don't have pics of the first week but I do starting in September. I actually just used a boring old sign that said "I am a first grader". It was very cute don't get me wrong. I have something in the works that I will post soon. I've been making photo props all year long for my nuggets. All I did was take the graphics that I already had & just blew them up & printed them on card stock & taped a dowel rod onto the back of it. I also had props that I have picked up throughout the years. Here are some examples of different photos we took. This … [Read more...] about Classroom Photo Ideas
