Uh-oh, where did the summer go? It’s August ALREADY, and among the other gazillion things on your teacher to-do list, you may be thinking about which behavior management system you’d like to try with your class this year. Well, I can guarantee, that if you try the Rewards Coupon system, you’ll be blown away by the response from your kiddos. In teacher circles, there’s been so much talk lately about Brag Tags and Reward Coupons that I think it’s the perfect time, right before school starts back, to learn more so that you can transform your class this year! Once I implemented these two (nearly-automated) behavior management systems, I’ve never looked back, and NEVER had the need to try anything else! First, it’s essential to note that Brag Tags and Reward Coupons are very different and are used for different purposes. My last post discussed all the amazing reasons why Brag Tags are such an awesome behavior management system. The Brag Tags post gives you all … [Read more...] about Reward Coupons & Brag Tags: Behavior Management Made Effortless, Engaging, & Fun!

Classroom Management Using Warm Fuzzies and Reward Coupons
I am joining my bloggy besties from Freebielicious for a Throwback Thursday post on Classroom Management. This is one of my most popular posts & I thought it would be a great time to revisit it...perfect timing! READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM................HINT...HINT! I'm joining some of my blogging bff's over @ our collaborative blog, Freebie-licious for week #5 of our summer linky party series. I believe it was my 3rd or even 4th year of teaching when my former principal, Mr. Ja**a** had the nerve to mark me off on an evaluation because my students were talking when they transitioned into the line to leave. Oh, they also were too loud while adding dice...really???? Don't even get me started. Well, I don't take criticism well at all but my kids were good! You know how you promise them 10,000 fuzzies if they are good or everyone gets a sucker...come on, admit it! We all do it. Well, that day I did & they were very well … [Read more...] about Classroom Management Using Warm Fuzzies and Reward Coupons
Bright Ideas
Today I am joining over 180 bloggers who are sharing their bright classroom ideas. Unfortunately, I did not participate last time but I found wonderful ideas that I am using already! Do you do AR in your classroom? I do & I promote it heavily. My students are obsessed with taking AR tests. We currently only have two student computers in our classroom. This has caused major arguments when someone cuts in line. It drove me cray-cray. I used to have my students write their names on the board & erase it when they were finished taking a test. This was not working well at all. There has to be a procedure in place for this to run smoothly. I get asked a lot how my class accumulates so many AR points. I truly believe having this system really helps! I DO NOT let my students take tests while I am teaching whole group. They take tests all day long. I do let them take tests if they are in "Read to Someone" or "Read to Self" during our Daily 5 rotations. They … [Read more...] about Bright Ideas
New Classroom Reveal…..Finally!
So I finally feel confident about sharing some pictures with you. I have shared several on IG already. Do you follow me there? Well, you should...seriously. Here goes nothing......... First, I'm going to take you through a few bulletin boards in our first grade hallway. My BFF at work & fellow blogger, Stacey, from Teaching Ever After, & I were totally inspired by Jodi's Restroom Review bulletin board. We went from having bathrooms in our classrooms to having a shared hallway bathroom. It was driving me nutso trying to keep them at a level zero in the hallway. I love how this is an interactive bulletin board that can be changed or kept the same throughout the year. My kiddos are having a contest to see who can make the largest word. I first saw something similar to this on Etsy. But then my friend Alisha from Bubbly Blond made one for her classroom & posted a pic on IG & I was obsessed! Here are a few more shots of this … [Read more...] about New Classroom Reveal…..Finally!
First Day of School Tips & More!
I'm joining some of my bff's over at Freebie-licious for our last summer linky party. Seriously, where did the summer go? I've spent my ENTIRE summer on getting ready for next year & of course sharing my ideas with you. I have so many classroom pictures that I can't wait to show you! I pride myself on the classroom management routines & procedures that I have come up with. This my lovelies is vital to new teachers & even veteran teachers. We always pray that we will not get the class that puts us in the looney bin but we always don't get that lucky. I don't have children so the students are my children for 9 months. Some I would love to take home & some I would like to move to another class. We all have them. The first day is always scary for any teacher. We are just as nervous as our little nuggets & their parents will be. I always get scared that I am going to make someone cry, send them home on the wrong bus, lose them in … [Read more...] about First Day of School Tips & More!
