READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM................HINT...HINT! I'm joining some of my blogging bff's over @ our collaborative blog, Freebie-licious for week #5 of our summer linky party series. I believe it was my 3rd or even 4th year of teaching when my former principal, Mr. Ja**a** had the nerve to mark me off on an evaluation because my students were talking when they transitioned into a the line to leave. Oh, they also were too loud while adding dice...really???? Don't even get me started. Well, I don't take criticism well at all but my kids were good! You know how you promise them 10,000 fuzzies if they are good or everyone gets a sucker...come on, admit it! We all do it. Well, that day I did & they were very well behaved. Anyway, when I had the meeting afterwords I had written a rebuttal to my evaluation...ever since then I was a target. He actually handed me a classroom management book by Harry Wong!!!!!! I was absolutely appalled beyond belief. … [Read more...] about Classroom Management Linky Party

Classroom Management Linky
I am so excited to link up with Rachelle & Natalie's linky party. This is honestly my favorite topic to blog about! This has been my biggest obstacle when I started teaching nearly 10 years ago. If you're anything like me if it's a challenge you must accept the challenge and overcome the obstacle and I did! Last year's group of students was the MOST challenging bunch I've ever had! I knew within the first day either I was going to retire @ 39 or have to come up with something really good. First I'm going to give you some examples of things I do in my classroom that have gotten me to this point & have worked magically. I have a secret...it's magical & it's NOT too late to start.............2 words.........WARM FUZZIES. I have been using this for at least 9 years & LOVE IT! Here are my fuzzy containers. Here are my two containers for big & little warm fuzzies. One BIG one equals 5 little ones. So to get a big one is … [Read more...] about Classroom Management Linky

And the obsession continues.................... We are up to 55 DIFFERENT coupons! Oh.my.word! I can't wait to show my students from last year my NEW coupons! I actually had some help from my niece, Skye, who is going into 3rd grade. I also got help from some of my BFF's children who are school-aged. Honestly, I would never have thought this many things would float their boat! I started out with the container below...see post here. I now have enough coupons to change them out every quarter! I can't tell you how excited I am for my kiddos! If my class is ANYTHING like the class I had last year I will probably be making more. I think I just had a mini heart attack thinking about them & I can feel a grey hair growing. They about sent me off to the looney bin last year. That is why I knew I had to change up my rountine & fast! I CAN'T offer these for FREE because of the amount of graphics that are on these. The TOU'S (Terms of Use) from some of the … [Read more...] about Classroom Management Reward Coupons…CONTINUED
Behavior Coupons
This is definitely NOT my idea! I was inspired by some behavior catalogs I stumbled upon on Pinterest. This got my wheels turning because I have been looking for a way to get rid of my treasure box. While creating these I had it in my mind that I wanted something for my students to hold onto & for me not to create more work for myself to keep track of what they picked. So I made coupons & printed them on cardstock & laminated them. So every Friday the kids will be able to trade in their warm fuzzies for a coupon or two of their choice. They can ONLY pick one of the same coupon. They will be responsible for holding onto their coupons and handing it to me BY THE BELL....otherwise they "expire". So if I have a student pick "Wear your favorite hat to school" this will ONLY happen in my classroom IF they give me their coupon right away. I used to let them only cash in coupons on Fridays BUT I changed that & I will let "cash in" their coupon all week … [Read more...] about Behavior Coupons
