Sorry I have been MIA the past few days. I have been working like a banshee night & day in  my classroom. In the meantime, check out the pics I posted of my classroom progress on my Facebook page. I am so excited..I actually wanted to sleep in my classroom tonight! I'm loving my new theme! I had Dr. Seuss for the past eight years & it was time for a change. After A LOT of dinero & A TON of time it's getting there. I can't wait to post the before & after pics for you all. Check out my FB page here! Student Recognition Necklace Idea

I am so proud of my latest creation ladies & gents! I could just scream with excitement for my kiddos! Please tell me you pass out the zillions of Highlight forms we get just to get free stuff?!? Well, I ordered some lovely field trip necklaces like the ones from Lakeshore shown below for FREE!  Well, for the past several years we have only been allowed to have one field trip a year :o( What a waste of those nice little necklaces, right? I do use them on the first week of school BTW to help me with their names & to help the special teachers. Well, after working at school last week I noticed these necklaces I bought from Lakeshore YEARS ago & thought I need to order some more of these, they are looking real yucky...but then a light bulb went off & I sprinted over to find those free Highlight necklaces....YES THEY WERE THERE! Monthly Organization Labels

Hi ya'll..yup I'm still in Kentucky! We have the truck loaded to the max & are heading back to Chicago tomorrow! Yippee! I can take pics of all my wonderful finds for ya'll. Even though I am super tired from getting in & out of the car 4,000 times in the past few days & I don't think I have ever been so icky, sticky & sweaty....EWW! I still managed to get stuff done. Like I told you before I am THE LABEL QUEEN, I can't even begin to tell you how much moola I spend on labels...WOWIE! I told my husband if you want to make me happy, give me your credit card & drop me off at Staples, Dollar Tree, Target $ spot, Joanne Fabrics & come back & get me with a U-haul & I will be as happy as the day I married you. But if he would bring home labels, laminating pouches, or a new stapler...he'd get some lovin from me! Am I right? Ok I am having some verbal overflow issues...I know funny right? Peace Themed Word Wall & 1st Grade Blog Author Opportunity

Hello from Kentucky! Yes, I'm in Kentucky right now for the Route 127 sale! I just LOVE the southern accents out here :o) BUT, I don't think they like mine :o( I have been repeating myself for 2 days now....seriously!  I think us Chicagoans talk too fast...lol. I have found many treasures today including 4 lava lamps for my peace themed classroom....S..C..O..R..E! I got a Candy Land board game...I use just the game board & figurines but use sight word cards & addition/subtraction games with it. I think I have 7 boards already. I found the game "upwords" & plan on using the letters for "word work". I also found two mini chairs which I posted on my FB page that I plan on redoing with some Dr. Seuss magic. I might even jazz one up with some peace signs & tie dye. I promise I will post pictures when I get done...which might not be until Christmas break since I will be spending every waking moment in my classroom starting on Monday! FREEBIE Monthly Labels

Here are some monthly oh so cute labels I use for my monthly read alouds. Do you send home the highlights forms to the kids? Well I always order these sturdy cardboard magazine bins for my personal stash.  They are the primary colored ones on that big ugly metal vent & also on top of that white shelf under the one legged Sneetch...lol.   After you "pin" these grab them here for FREE! Just use Avery 8163 (2x4) labels. I also stick these on drawers that I keep my monthly projects in. Another use is for all my monthly binders with worksheets. I don't think you can find anything in my classroom without a label on it...not kidding.  I am working on some smaller monthly address labels that I will use for writing samples, journals, projects, drawings, class photos, handwriting, etc. for their student memory book/portfolio.
