Here are the babies at 4:30 a.m.! It's official we are on the vampire schedule already! I don't know what it is about NOT having to get up.....I feel like a kid & have to stay up ALL.NIGHT.LONG! I have been getting lots checked off my to do list at least & that is a shocker! I wanted to share some fun we had in the classroom before I started this MUCH NEEDED BREAK..... We got a call from the front office telling us we had a very cold package in the office! After I read the book and we talked about our new surprise the kids went to special. This is where the elf was when we returned. Staring in amazement! Fred changed the lunch choices! Everyone got popcorn! Reading Parts by Tedd Arnold to the Grinch! He left the class some cereal! Happy 50th Birthday message to our principal! Hiding in the crayons! He left us donuts but took a bite out of mine! I'm watching you! We … [Read more...] about Elf on the Shelf, Gifts, & More!

Elf on the Shelf Linky Party!
Whether you are a teacher, mother or not even a mother (like me) & are into the Elf on the Shelf craziness........you need to link up sista! I have been plotting all year & can't wait to introduce my students to our elf tomorrow. Raise your hand if your students are already CRA-CRA & it's not even D-E-C-E-M-B-E-R! I'm going to whip out that little elf early this year. The hubs is wrapping the package now & it will be put into the freezer tonight. I'm going to freeze his little butt! I ripped his hands apart last year to give him some more flexibility...I have some major plans for my little Mexican friend. Mexican, you ask??? Yes, when I sent my mom on a wild goose chase last year looking for an elf she bought me a Mexican elf. No biggie, Mel D is 1/2 taco so I am allowed to talk about my Mexican elf named Juan....I'm kidding we didn't even name him yet this year. I feel bad talking about my mom but she is one of those … [Read more...] about Elf on the Shelf Linky Party!
Wake up…it’s time to shop……….
I'm still waiting for the hubs to to wake me up & say that....am I right??? Did this ever happen to you? If so, I'm super uber jealous! Anyway, with some extra cash I make on TPT I put it right back into my TPT cart & it is LOADED my friends! I decided last year to get rid of all my resource books & go digital...completely. Most of what I use I can easily pull up within seconds & it saves paper at the same time! I'm going green friends! This is what education has come to, in my world at least. I started purchasing from various online sites several years ago to build my collection. If I had a resource book from Scholastic I would purchase the same or updated version when they have their $1 ebook sale & replace the ones I have & purchase new ones as well. Then came teacherspayteachers.com & I was hooked...........HOOKED! Here is a screenshot of how many items I have purchased! Yes, friends! I have purchased 551 … [Read more...] about Wake up…it’s time to shop……….
Elf on the Shelf Classroom Ideas!
I have been counting down the days until "THE ELF" arrives in our classroom. I almost whipped him out the day before Thanksgiving break.....oh.my.word. they were A.W.F.U.L! This years little nuggets are going to be sooooooo much fun to mess with!!!! Last year I would plot the second I arrived at school, when they went to special, & then write ideas down after they left. I was entirely into it...in an OCD kinda way. This is the part that makes me sad about not having kids of my own :o( I get so into stuff like this but at least I have 24 kiddos to mess with starting December 1st..if I can hold out that long. The parents really enjoyed hearing the stories they would come home with daily. I blogged about it on my classroom blog just so they could see "Elfie" in action. Most of my students ended up with an elf of their own at home. The first thing I did was wrap up the package it came in...book & all with a letter. I put it in the … [Read more...] about Elf on the Shelf Classroom Ideas!
Treats for Our Sweets!
I am so excited to be participating with my FREEBIELICIOUS FRIENDS! We are all providing you with some fabulous freebies while trick-or-treating through our blogs. This week I am working on Author's Purpose which I have always struggled teaching this concept to my little nuggets. My students absolutely LOVE when I read to them. They are in a trance & I have 100% of their attention any time I read to them. I have been tying in a lot of concepts with trade books & it really seems to be helping. These are the books I used to teach Author's Purpose. This book is ABSOLUTELY H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S! I wouldn't expect anything less from Jerry Seinfeld. I picked this gem up at a garage sale! I love reading it & being ALL DRAMATIC...I should tape myself for you! This book is a MUST for Halloween. After reading the book I have the students fill out the above graphic organizer....which can be used with any book...BTW. … [Read more...] about Treats for Our Sweets!
